In 1881 Mary Plowright, who lived at 33, Victoria Crescent, Eccles was a 30 year old widow
who had three children, Florence 5 yrs old, Charles 3 yrs old and Harry 3 yrs old. Ellen, 16 years old was presumably the children's nanny. As her father James Mills had left the area for Ashford it is presumed that he maintained contact with people he knew back home. |

Her death followed a fractured femur from a fall. There was a post Mortem and a verdict of accidental death was returned at the inquest, held 3rd September 1951 Hospital now demolished for housing |
